SHIO is an illustrator and muralist from Japan, currently based in London. After studying architecture in Japan, she moved to New York and received a Master of Science in Urban Planning at Columbia University. Later, she moved to Los Angeles and worked for Walt Disney Imagineering for about a year. While there, she met many inspiring creatives, who encouraged her to explore her creativity. After returning to Japan, she started her career as an illustrator. With a background in architecture, urban planning and urban design, she loves observing the relationship and interaction between people and the cities they inhabit and translating these observations into pieces that are nostalgic and evoke various feelings.
